Between June 14 and 16, Lebanon will host its first international robotics competition. The event co-hosted by Education and Technology Center, FIRST LEGO League Operational Partners, and the Lebanese American University in Byblos will see 600 students traveling from more than 50 countries to showcase innovation and creativity in the world's most exciting competition.
FIRST LEGO League Open International Lebanon will not be the first event ETC and LAU co-host together. In 2012, both institutions collaborated in hosting the Arab Robotics Championship, and in 2013 LAU Beirut hosted the third FLL Lebanon Championship, which both were a great success with the support of the Lebanese Ministry of Education.
For 3 days in June, FIRST LEGO League teams will be able to enjoy Byblos, one of the first cities of the world, and feel at home at the LAU campus within more than 5000 square meters reserved for tournament activities, an LAU hosted friendship night, a tour of the old souks in Jbeil, and the most exciting part of it all, the robot games and FLL showcasing.
With June just around the corner, preparations have already started for the event with final touches remaining to arrange a welcoming stay for all teams in our beloved country, if you're looking on how to get involved, make sure you visit the official website and take the time to volunteer or just spreading the word: visit fllopenlebanon.com
